About GC

Things that seem simple can be astoundingly complicated

What is Geometry | 幾何

In GC, geometric shapes are figures that can be described using geometric principles and remain the same even after transformations such as translation, scaling, rotation, or reflection. For example, triangles, squares, circles, and trapezoids, when moved, scaled, rotated, or mirrored, still retain their original form.

These shapes are simple and symmetrical, making them widely applicable and deeply connected to our daily lives. We can't escape the influence of geometry! Even the logos of "Square" and "Circle" are created using basic geometric shapes.

Some Little Stories

Point, Line, Plane

01.

  • Origin

The establishment of Kuang Kuang Backpacker Hostel began in 2015. The founder had been looking for a base for the hostel since 2014, and prior to that, he often traveled with guests and stayed at various guesthouses across Taiwan. What fascinated him most about the backpacker hostel environments, where exchanging stories and making friends was a key part of the experience. This inspired his dream of opening a backpacker hostel in Taichung, and thus began his journey of pursuing that dream.

02.

  • Vision

Taichung is known for its pleasant climate and has been repeatedly ranked as one of the best cities to live in.

We aim to provide a work-exchange base for young people who wish to relocate to Taichung. This platform not only offers them a place to stay but also helps to develop their professional skills and experiences, while continuously stimulating young people's innovative thinking and creativity.

03.

  • Breakthrough

How can we become a hostel that everyone loves, one that can capture people's hearts and keep them coming back? In today's digital age, it's not just about having beautiful decorations—many factors need to be considered, such as cleanliness, comfort, location, facilities, staff quality, and cost-effectiveness. All these elements must be maintained at a high standard. Ultimately, we want to provide a place for talented youth to experience Taichung's local culture, engage in activities, and make this city feel like home, creating opportunities for both employment and entrepreneurship.

Raise Environmental Awareness

To improve the living environment for future generations, we must change our lifestyle habits and adhere to environmental principles. We have become accustomed to recycling waste as part of daily life and have applied for eco-friendly hotel certification. We are committed to promoting environmental awareness by not providing disposable items for guests. We also replace electrical appliances with energy-efficient products and upgrade bathroom facilities to water-saving devices.

Build Local Connections

We participate in local guesthouse selection events to connect with other hostel in the area. By joining the Taichung Guesthouse Association, we visit other guesthouses to exchange information, and strengthen the Taichung tourism industry. We also warmly welcome international study groups, building friendships and encouraging more foreigners to visit Taiwan.

Bicycle-Friendly Space

We have established bicycle parking facilities, including wall-mounted racks and repair stands. Several security cameras are installed to ensure safety. We also offer cleaning stations, cleaning tools, and detergents for cyclists to use. Additionally, we provide free air pumps and a variety of repair tools to support cyclists during their stay.

Kuang Kuang Hostel

Located in one of the most unique buildings in the Donghai Shopping District , this structure was originally built as a student dormitory. It features a spacious front yard, private rooms, shared bathrooms, and an interior with excellent natural light through a skylight. The backyard also offers space for guests to wash and dry their clothes. The building's square, well-defined layout perfectly matches the "square" concept, leading to the creation of Kuang Kuang Hostel.

Quan Quan Stay

Located in a row of detached houses in the Donghai Shopping District , Quan Quan Stay has been fully renovated into studio apartments. The logo is designed in the shape of a paw print, making it clear that this is a pet-friendly space. The interior uses muted Morandi tones, creating a Nordic-inspired atmosphere. The contrast between the exterior and interior design is striking, perfectly embodying the concept of Quan Quan Stay—a space that "captures" you.

San Dian Bu Lou

Tucked away in the most iconic old building of the Donghai Shopping District, San Dian Bu Lou is built with triangular traditional roof tiles and hexagonal flower tiles that create its surrounding walls. The exterior retains the architectural style from forty years ago. Although the building is quite old, we've transformed it into a living space that's anything but simple.
